Bryton Pick

I have found that I'm an aggressive flosser. I find myself flossing until my gums are either swollen or they start bleeding. Then I get upset because they become sensitive. I also find that I have a habit of carrying around as many dental floss as possible so that I know I can look in my purse and find one. But how attractive is it when you are flossing and flossing so aggressively that you hand looks like it's almost down your throat. Not very attractive right. Probably just as unattractive as walking around with food visibly between your teeth. Because of this I began using the dental floss/picks that are one use only. They work well but I still manage to hurt my gums with them. Lo and behold readers, I have found a new product. This product, BrytonPick is AMAZING. I didn't have swollen bleeding gums. It was easy to use and I didn't have to worry about having my hand far in my mouth. I was also able to get to my back teeth easily. The BrytonPick is convenient and has its own carrying pouch. So no worries about accidentally leaving your toothpick or floss somewhere and people will see it. BrytonPick is also reusable up to 30 days and very flexible. On top of that it comes in a number of different colors. Each family member can have their own pick.

DISCLAIMER: Although I received this product for an honest review, I was not compensated in any other way. This review is based on my honest opinion.

Rock and Learn iPhone App

The Rock and Learn Phonics Easy Reader and Multiplication Apps for the iPhone are quite easy to use. These apps were built with children of this era in mind. I say that because children from the ages of  3 and up are learning more and more to use computers, cell phones and even iPhones more than children 10 years ago did. These two apps,  Rock and Learn Phonics Easy Reader and the Multiplication, include music and speech to text reading a long with animation and dancing that children between the ages of 3 - 6 will easily follow along to.  It is well known that when music is added to mathematics lessons, the subject becomes easier to learn. I believe with the music added to this multiplication app, children will not only enjoy the learning but they will remember what they have learned more easily. These two apps are fantastic and I believe if purchased, it will be money well spent.

Good Days...Bad Days

Have you ever had one of those days where you wake up and NOTHING goes right. You can't find a decent outfit in your closet for work. Your hair doesn't look the way you want it to. You kid or kids just aren't cooperating with you and eating their breakfast or getting dressed or brushing their teeth. On days like those, you end up putting just about anything on and hope that you do not look like you got dressed in the dark; and all day you keep feeling "FRUMPY".

I've had those days. I had one of those days today. I have some tips that may help us all try to avoid the frumpy feeling.

  1. Lose weight. This is always easier said than done and never an immediate solution. What you can do is layer your clothes or wear stuff that doesn't make you look boxy.
  2. To go with not being able to lose weight fast enough, another trick is to dress to look thinner.
  3. "Modernize" your hair. Again, this is not always something easy to do but w all know someone who still wears their hair as if it's 1983.  Avoid the teasing and the hairspray. Give it a softer look.
  4. Avoid clothing that makes you look like your grandma. Not that looking like grandma is bad but if you are 25, why do you want to dress like you are 65.
  5. Last, and most definitely not least is to be comfortable in your own skin. Being comfortable with yourself helps a great deal and it also exudes confidence

These are just some ideas I thought of from years of observing people including myself. I know when my hair doesn't look right I'm in a foul mood. I have a habit of buying tops too big and then complain that they make me look boxy or frumpy.

Major Bookstore Chain closing

For those of us who enjoy reading, keep watching out for sales to come at Borders. Today we learned that one of the biggest bookstore chains in the U.S. has decided to close all their stores. That makes me sad because I always liked Borders. It also means quite a bit of people will be out of jobs so our countries unemployment will not be going down. I'm sure it will take a while but based on the article on Yahoo, it says "Borders will begin closing down its remaining stores as soon as Friday, and the liquidation is expected to run through September."

If you love a good book sale, I say start saving up because there will probably be a lot of sales from now until they close.

I'll pose a question to you readers. Do you think e-readers are what is driving bookstores out of business? I still know quite a few people who will only read regular books. I myself still buy regular books even though I have an e-reader.

What do you think? Here's the article if you are interested http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Borders-Calls-Off-Auction-nytimes-1678947798.html?x=0

Downy UNSTOPABLES

What are Downy UNSTOPABLES you may ask. I consider them laundry fabulousness. I got these in the mail from VocalPoint one Saturday and began using them in my laundry. They give off the most amazing summer breeze scent to me I fell in love with the product. It reminded me of when my mom used to have clothes drying on the clothesline in Jamaica. Just refreshing. The scent also lasts for quite a while.Your linen closet will smell like you've been using candles in there it smells so good.

Downy UNSTOPABLES just hit select stores but by joining Vocalpoint, you may have the opportunity to another exclusive Downy UNSTOPABLES sample offer soon.
